Marks tell us part of the story. The Holistic Progress Card (HPC) tells the rest.
What is the HPC?
The HPC is a detailed descriptive report that goes beyond marks, capturing progress across learning domains and competencies. It is part of the comprehensive 360° assessment system that follows the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the new evaluation framework.
How does it describe progress?
The card maps progress across three distinct learning levels, with descriptive feedback that gives a complete picture of achievement and progression.
Four perspectives
The HPC brings together four views of each child:
- Teacher: how the child is learning in class
- Peers: how the child works with classmates
- Parents: what the family sees at home
- Self: how the child sees their own progress
How parents can help
Read the descriptive comments with your child, talk about one strength and one thing to work on, and share your own observations when the school asks for them.
Common questions
Does the HPC replace marks?
Unit tests and semester examinations continue as part of the academic year. The HPC adds a descriptive picture of growth alongside them.
